The Algorithm repeated it’s week 10 performance going 9 – 5.  This brings the season record back over .500 at 82 – 79 -5.   Again the Algorithm dominates the 4pm games, while scuffling along in the 1pm games.  I wish I could explain that and the strange Thursday record, but it is just a strange quirk resulting from the random scheduling since it is not losing consistently on particular teams, but rather at particular time/days of the week.

Pick of the Week – Pittsburgh +3.5 vs. Baltimore

Taking 3.5 points with a 7 – 2 team at home against a divisional opponent seems like an automatic play, but it was the Ravens offensive juggernaut coming to town, so there was a bit of apprehension.  In truth, this was much more of a defensive battle than Baltimore had appeared capable of so far in 2024.  However the steel curtain was close on Sunday and Baltimore was held to a mere 16 points.  Sure the Ravens had a chance to tie late with a 2 point conversion that was stuffed, but Pittsburgh controlled the game and got a big, and deserved, victory.

Punk of the Week – Jags + 13 @ Detroit

Goodbye Dougie P., it was nice knowing you.  Jags +43 wouldn’t have covered, and it is clear the Jags have quit on Pederson.  History might look back and determine that Pederson was the worst coach to ever win a Superbowl, riding a white hot Nick Foles to a trophy.  Khan isn’t really a reactionary owner who is prone to firing coaches mid-season, but I am not sure Pederson left him any alternatives.

Pederson got fired in Philadelphia because he refused to change any of his horrendous hand picked coordinators and staff.   He brought half that staff with him to Jacksonville, and now he is saying all things are on the table.  The only thing that should be on the table is Pederson’s termination notice.
