NFL 2024 – WEEK 4 Power Ratings, Spreads & Predictions

The Algorithm went 9 – 6 – 1 in Week 4, putting the season mark at 36 – 26 – 2.  Week 5 is the first week of the 2024 season in which all the power ratings, spreads and picks are based solely on 2024 stats.  Therefore you should expect more than average volatility in the power ratings and picks.

For example, now that Washington has gotten rid of 2023 stats from their power rating, they jumped 4.5 points and leaped up in rankings from 29th to 16th.  In addition, the Bucs, Seahawks, Giants & Vikings all benefitted from dumping their 2023 stats.

Meanwhile the Jacksonville Jaguars can no longer use their 2023 stats and have free fallen by 4.5 points all the way down to 31st ranking.  The Pats also dropped 4.5 points on merit, but teams like Miami, Philadelphia, and Cleveland all show big drops as thier 2023 stats fade into history and they are forced to be rated and ranked on only their 2024 performance.

The Algorithm really likes New Orleans @ Kansas City(perhaps foolishly), and Indianapolis @ Jacksonville (perhaps wisely).  However I think the sneaky best bet of the week may be to ride the Commanders at home giving only -3 to the woeful Cleveland Browns who just can’t seem to put together a good game in 2024.  The Algorithm sees Washington as -8 point favorites at home, so giving up only a field goal seems like the Algorithm is playing for the win or push.  I think stay away from Washington moneyline and give up the points.  If you want to pad the odds a bit, maybe lay up to -5 on Washington which should get the payout over 1-1.
