Against The Spread 9 – 6 – 1
The Algorithm stayed hot, but perhaps not scorching as it put up a 9 – 6 – 1 week. That still makes 8 straight weeks .500 or over (weeks 10 through 17), with two .500 weeks and six winning weeks.
Over/Under Point Totals 9 – 7
The Algorithm posted a winning week with a 9 – 7 record. It predicted the over in the Vikings Packers game coming up with a total of 47 on a O/U of 45. Then the total dropped to 42.5. Final score Packers 33 Vikings 10, Total 43. So it was an over on the late week line of 42.5, but it was an under on the early week line the Algorithm had and therefore a loss. Sometimes fate just kicks you in the ass.
Pick of the Week – Cardinals(+9.5) @ Eagles
The power ratings haven’t liked the Eagles all year and the birds are coming home to roost. You cannot lay a touchdown or more with the Eagles no matter who they play. In fact most times you are best off picking against them or staying away. The hype doesn’t match the product and the Cardinals exposed that as they marched up and down the field at will against the Eagles.
Punk of the Week – Dolphins (+3) @ Ravens
The Algorithm came out with a line of Ravens -2.70, much like Vegas’ Ravens -3. However that meant those three tenths of a points made the Algorithm go with the Dolphins, and it couldn’t have worked out much worse. Might have to look up the last NFL to score 70 and give 56 in the same season. My guess is no teams, and if there is one it is some obscure team from the 20’s or 30’s.
