The Algorithm had another winning week going 8 – 5 in Week 14. This brings the season record to 104 – 99 – 5. We continue to see the issue with favorites and home teams against the spread. However, straight up, things are more in line with expectations.

Pick of the Week – Giants +5 / Jets +6.5 Parlay

In the Week 14 picks post, I mentioned that the Algorithm had only three games with a spread error of more than 3 points. Two of them were the Jets & Giants, the third one being Pittsburgh. Well not only did the NY/NY parlay that I mocked hit, but the Pittsburgh pick hit as well making the Algorithm 3 – 0 on the three biggest spread errors of Week 14. It should be noted that the author does not recommend attempting this parlay on a regular basis.

Punk of the Week – Arizona -3 vs Seattle

Every time you begin to trust the Cardinals, they throw in another clunker. Meanwhile, Seattle is heating up nicely despite the worst offensive line in the league. Let’s give a little shout out to Geno Smith who has the Seahawks winning despite constantly being under pressure. I am not entirely sure I trust the Seattle defense entirely at this point, but the offense seems to find a way to maximize their potential most weeks even if it isn’t very pretty to watch.
