So I haven’t talked House Algorithm picks at all this year and its now week 5. I know there is a commentator’s curse for mentioning a stat which immediately blows up in their face, so let’s see if their is the equivalent in the blogosphere.
After starting in week 1 at 9-6-1, the House Algorithm peed(as opposed to shitting it) the bed in week 2 and went 7 – 9, leaving it at the uninspiring 16-15-1 after week 2. Not profitable, and frankly a bit boring.
Week 3 comes along and the Alogirthm sucks in the new 2026 stats and has a very nice 10 -5 -1 week, bringing the season record to a healthy 26-20-2.
Then all the statistical molecules in the universe must have momentarily forged in to one visible entity for the briefest of moments on Tuesday of week 4 because what happened with all the published algorithms was astounding.
How astounding? The House Algorithm went 12-3-1 in week4, and it was not the best performing published algorithm of the week. https://nfllines.com/leaderboards/
The 10 published algorithms went 105-45-10 in week 5, topped by the 13-2-1 record by one algorithm. The worst performing algorithm was 9-6-1. All 10 algorithm had winning, and profitable weeks.
What does this mean for week 5? Absolutely nothing other than the House Algorithm has been locked in the past two weeks and its formula seems to be behaving properly if not beyond expectation.
All of which guarantees that Thursday Night’s pick will be an epic disaster if the Blogger’s Curse is real and week 5 will end up being one of those 5 or 6 win ATS kind of weeks.
If not, then you might want to throw a few ducats on any game both you and the algorithm likes right now and ride the wave before it crests.
