The Algorithm bounced back in week 10 going 9 – 5. Thursday night also continues to be a disaster for the Algorithm, but hopefully most of you know not to bet on Thursday Night games due to the short week and the unknown conditon of players. It is difficult enought for NFL players to heal ove the course of a normal 7 day week, so playing on Thursday just results in betting on players in half fit or below normal condition,
Pick of the Week – Arizona -1 vs NY Jets
The idea that the Cardinals were home underdogs to the Jets was almost laughable. Not so much from a power rating angle, but from a team momentum angle. Arizona is playing well, and the Jets either play poorly or just well enough to squeak by if their opponents make some mistakes. Rodgers refuses, or can’t, throw the ball downfield and he can’t move out of the pocket(or within it at times). I would just keep betting against the Jets and Cowboys until Vegas and the betting public finally figure out that they stink.
Punk of the Week – Chicago -6 vs New England
Laying 6 points in a European game is always going to be a bit iffy. When combined with a #1 QB pick who is underperforming and an Offensive Coordinator who apparently came from the Flag Football league, you get a 19 -3 woodshedding. I think it may be time for the Bears to shuffle up the playcalling and offensive prepartion duties. Their offense looks like a unit that has no idea what it is doing right now.
