Below are charts that compare NFL teams by their salary structure and cap management. The yearly salary of a contract places it into one of five tiers; Elite, High, Middle, Low, & Rookie. Using these tiers we can compare the financial texture of each NFL team.

Middle (160 players) – $4.8m – $10m
Low – 4.8m & Lower

- Four teams, Jets, Patriots, Broncos & Titans have no Elite level contracts on the books.
- The Chiefs have 3 Elite contracts, the Raiders & Chargers each have 2. All other teams have one Elite contract.
- The Chiefs spend the most on Elite contracts at $88.7m. Cleveland is second at $63.7m, Raiders third at $55.8m and Chargers fourth at $51.5m
- The Chargers & Titans have the most players under rookie contact at 31. The Chiefs are second with 30, the Colts & Raiders each have 29.
- Jacksonville spends the most on Rookie contracts at $56.8m. The Jets are second at $54.8, and Kansas City is third at $54.2m
- Miami has the least amount of Rookie player contacts at 15. Houston has the second least with 16, both Cleveland & Buffalo have 20.
- Cleveland spends the least on Rookie contacts at $29.2m. Miami spends the second least at $31.3m and Buffalo is next at $33.2m

- Denver has the highest amount of Dead Money at $67.6m. Buffalo is second at $61.1m, and LA Chargers third at $54m.
- Kansas City has only $5.9m in Dead Money. Cincinnati is seoncd lowest with $6.4m and the Colts third at $8.3m.
- The Patriots have the most Cap Space with $45.6m. The Raiders are second with $34.1, and Jacksonville third at $28.6m.
