Pick of the Week – Indianapolis +1.5 @ LA Chargers
The Algorithm loves the Colts. It has them ranked as the #1 team in the power rating. It picks them nearly every week no matter the spread or location. So getting Indy as a +1.5 underdog made the silicon overlord quite happy, seeing it as a 4.5 point line error.
The Colts offense went into LA and had perhaps their best day of the season, which is saying something since they seem to explode every other week. The final score of 38 -24 wasn’t probably a good indication of how thoroughly the Colts dominate the game as they just couldn’t be stopped when given the ball.
Punk of the Week – Las Vegas +12.5 @ Kansas City
You would think nearly two touchdowns would be enough to find a way to backdoor cover during garbage time. Well it turned out that garbage time started the minute the Raiders took the field in this one, getting outplayed and outclassed in every aspect of the game.
The Raiders have some serious injury issues to deal with and now they have benched Geno Smith. Pete Carroll is probably wishing he had stayed on whatever beach he was on as this team looks nothing like a Pete Carroll team, or a professional football team for that matter.
The Black Hole is going to suck at full power this year.
