The Algorithm scored a winning week, going 9 – 7 in Week 8 , That puts the season record at 60 – 59 – 4. To adjust for the home team troubles in 2024, the home field advantage has been reduced from 3 points down to 2.5 points.
The Algorithm is producing lines very close to Vegas now, with the exception of teams with major injuries. It has taken a lot of losses by picking teams who suffered a QB or major injuries. The stats cannot show an injury for week after it happens(unless it is in the first week or two). The team must play without the injured player(s), compile stats, and then their rating will start to reflect how they play without the injured player(s).
In week 9 Vegas may be undervaluing some of the home teams, particularly the big home team favorites in Buffalo and Philadelphia. Atlanta also looks to be giving up less points than they should, and Seattle is a rare home dog by -1 to the LA Rams.
If you want a Hot Dog, look at Houston getting 2 points from the Jets at New York. The Algorithm has Houston as -1.5 favorites on the road as they look to put the nail in the Jets 2024 coffin.
